Durga Prasai, leader of the “Campaign to Save the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizens,” is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sushila Karki on December 8 following discussions with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal. The meeting comes amid concerns over Prasai’s planned pre-election protests, which officials are monitoring closely for potential security risks.

Recently released by the Supreme Court after being detained for controversial remarks, Prasai has intensified his campaign, demanding reforms in financial institutions, support for landless squatters, the release of protest detainees, and improvements in public sector salaries and benefits. He is also pushing for a national referendum on the country’s Hindu state status, provincial structure, and the restoration of the monarchy.

Authorities are coordinating with Prasai to address security and political sensitivities, while his continued activism signals that protests may escalate if demands are not addressed before upcoming elections.
