Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has called for unity among communist parties and groups with similar beliefs.

At an event held on Friday to announce the merger between CPN (Unified Socialist) and the CPN National Unity Campaign, Nepal said unity among like-minded left forces is important for the country's development and the people's well-being.

He said joining hands with parties that share the same goals would strengthen the organization and make it more effective.

Nepal ruled out any possibility of merging with CPN (UML), blaming its leaders' views and ideological differences. He said these differences are the main reason unity isn’t possible.

Nepal, a former Prime Minister, also claimed that his party’s ideas have played an important role in shaping national politics.

Senior leader Jhalanath Khanal also stressed the need for unity among leftist forces who had fought against past autocratic rule. He said unity with CPN (UML) might be possible in the future if left forces come together.

Campaign Coordinator Bamdev Gautam, who joined CPN (Unified Socialist) with a 75-member team, said he was happy with the merger. He said his goal is to see socialism in Nepal during his lifetime and to help build it.

Gautam also promised to work actively to strengthen the party.
