In a self-review of what is, by and large, its own work, the CPN-UML, a key player in the ruling coalition, is holding a meeting of its parliamentary members this afternoon (May 3) at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to discuss the government’s new policies and programs, as well as other important political matters, according to party leaders.
This comes closely after President Ramchandra Paudel shared the government’s plans for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26 on behalf of the government.
The policy document states that the government will review all ongoing and planned infrastructure projects, pledging to scrap projects that are not viable.
The government is also planning major changes in the tax system. These changes aim to help industries grow, bring in more investment and make Nepal’s economy stronger by creating a simpler and friendlier tax system using better management and digital tools.
As part of its goal to go digital, the government also plans to start a digital bank and promote cashless payments.
