Senior Vice Chair of the CPN-UML, Ishwor Pokhrel, emphasized the historical collaboration between CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress (NC) during times of national transformation and crisis. Addressing a program organized by the Nepal Press Union and Press Chautari Nepal in Kathmandu, Pokhrel highlighted the significant joint efforts of both parties in bringing about major changes in the country.

He stated, “Both parties performed as competing forces when necessary, but they have proven to be a united force in times of crisis.” Pokhrel further underscored the importance of healthy competition among political parties, asserting that the NC and UML are mindful of avoiding unhealthy rivalry. He also stressed the importance of maintaining strong and cordial relations between Nepal, India, and China, urging all sides to work towards strengthening these ties.

She also advocated for a directly elected executive, arguing that such a system would contribute to political stability and the country’s development.
