CPN-UML Divided Over Decision To Expel Bhim Rawal And Suspend Leaders

The decision to expel Bhim Rawal from the party and suspend two other leaders, Binda Pandey and Ushakiran Timilsina, for six months has brought disagreement within the CPN-UML faction.

One group is defending the decision to expel former Vice President Rawal and suspend Binda Pandey and Ushakiran Timilsina for six months. During the Secretariat meeting held on Wednesday, some leaders openly supported the disciplinary decision. According to sources from the meeting, Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokhrel, Vice President Bishnu Paudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal and Secretary Raghubir Mahaseth were in favor of the action.

On the other hand, Vice Presidents Yubraj Gyawali, Ashtalakshmi Shakya, and Surendra Pande argued against the decision. According to the source, Secretary Gokarna Bista also expressed his dissatisfaction to the decision.
Similary, Deputy General Secretaries Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Prithvishubba Gurung, and Yogesh Bhattarai were also against the decision.
