A 74-year-old woman has died from COVID-19 in Pokhara, according to the Health Directorate of Gandaki Province. The death was confirmed by Dr. Khim Bahadur Khadka, Director of the Directorate.

The woman had tested positive for coronavirus eight days ago and was receiving treatment at Charak Hospital in Pokhara. According to the hospital, she was also suffering from other serious health conditions, including high blood pressure and diabetes.

Health officials said that her death is a reminder of the continued risk of COVID-19, especially for elderly people and those with chronic illnesses.

The Health Directorate has also stated that COVID-19 cases are rising again in Gandaki Province. At present, there are eight active cases in the province: five in Kaski, two in Baglung, and one in Syangja.

Authorities have urged the public to stay alert and follow health safety guidelines to help prevent further spread of the virus.
