Covid-19 Cases Slowly Rising in Asia: Nepal Urged to Stay Alert

Covid-19 is slowly making a comeback in parts of Asia, with countries like India reporting a steady rise in cases. Although Nepal has not seen a major increase yet, health experts are urging people to remain alert and take precautions.

Officials note that many people with mild symptoms are choosing not to get tested, which means the actual number of cases could be higher than reported. However, hospitalizations and deaths remain low so far, thanks to vaccination and previous exposure to the virus.

Vulnerable groups—including the elderly, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases, and the unvaccinated—are at higher risk of complications and should be especially cautious. These individuals could face issues like pneumonia, clotting, or long-term effects if infected.

Vaccinated people are still protected from severe illness, but mild infections can still happen. Experts recommend getting booster doses, using masks in crowded places, and maintaining hygiene to prevent a larger outbreak in Nepal.
