Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the corruption case filed against former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is now a matter for the court. He said he would not comment further on the issue.
Speaking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Friday, Thapa said the case against former PM Nepal should be resolved respectfully through legal process.
He also said that the issue of active party membership must be settled before the upcoming general convention of the Nepali Congress. He stressed that every leader must renew and finalize party membership in their constituency.
Thapa said Congress leaders must fulfill their responsibilities on time. He also expressed that the government is doing its best and should work in a way that wins the people's trust. Thapa added that ongoing government activities should be reviewed to ensure effectiveness.
