Complaint Filed Against Mayor Balen Shah Over ‘Offensive’ Social Media Posts

Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah has been accused of posting inflammatory remarks on social media, prompting the National Youth Federation Nepal, the youth wing of CPN-UML to file a complaint at the Cyber Bureau.

Filed by the federation’s vice-chair Maharaj Gurung, the complaint claims Shah’s Facebook posts contained offensive comments against foreign nations, political parties, and officials, potentially disturbing public peace.

The group has demanded legal action, including a travel ban and investigation, citing violations related to public order, defamation, and cyber offenses.
