Chitwan National Park (CNP) has set up a new water boring system to make it easier for wildlife to access water. The new system, located in Bhimle, is designed to help animals living in dry areas of the park. With this addition, the park now has a total of nine water boring facilities.
According to Abinash Thapa Magar, CNP's Information Officer, the water facilities are spread across different locations within the park: two at the Gharial Breeding Centre, one in the Hattisar area, two at Bhimle, two at Kasara, one at Old Padampur, one at Dumariya, and one at Sukhibhar.
Managing water resources for wildlife is an important task for CNP, making sure that animals don't have to leave the park to find water. The new water boring system cost around one million rupees to install. The park is also working on efforts to clean and conserve its water resources and ponds. As part of these efforts, two artificial ponds have also been created.
