China launched a Long March-2D carrier rocket on Thursday, successfully placing two new satellites into space.
The rocket was launched at 6:51 a.m. (Beijing time) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, northern China. It carried a pair of satellites—Siwei Gaojing-2 05 and Siwei Gaojing-2 06—into their designated orbit.
This mission marked the 634th flight of the Long March rocket series.
