California Governor Gavin Newsom Threatens Legal Action Against Trump Administration

California Governor Gavin Newsom has strongly criticized President Donald Trump’s administration for sending the National Guard to Los Angeles without permission. He said he will take the matter to court.

Posting on social media platform X, Governor Newsom said that what Trump wanted is now happening. According to BBC, Newsom blamed Trump for making the situation worse and accused him of illegally sending the National Guard. He had already called this action unconstitutional.

On Saturday, people in California were protesting against immigration and border enforcement policies. During that time, ignoring the governor’s objections, Trump’s administration deployed 200 National Guard troops.

Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that US Marines have also been put on high alert to support the National Guard if needed.
