CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet has criticized the government’s decision to close the Nagdhunga–Piplamod road from December 10 to 16, during the party’s national convention.
Basnet said the closure was politically motivated and aimed at disturbing the convention. He accused the government and the Minister for Energy and Physical Infrastructure of taking revenge for political reasons.
“This decision by the government and Kulman Ghising to disrupt the UML national convention from December 13 to 15 is not just wrong it is revenge politics. Remember, revenge only leads to more revenge,” Basnet said.
He called on the government to cancel the closure now and suggested that the road should instead be closed from the first week of Poush, which would benefit both the government and Minister Ghising.
