Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show that the unemployment rate, which stood at 4.3 percent in November, declined to 4.1 percent in December. This is the lowest level recorded in 2025.
According to the statistics, the total number of employed Australians increased by 65,200 between November and December, while the number of people officially listed as unemployed decreased by 29,800 during the same period. The total hours worked by Australians rose by 0.4 percent between November and December, reaching two billion hours—the highest level ever recorded.
