Australia has closed its embassy in Tehran due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

According to Xinhua, the Australian government decided to suspend operations at its embassy in Tehran after Israel started carrying out repeated attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said that all Australian diplomats and their family members have been instructed to return home.

To help Australian citizens leave Iran, Australia has deployed consular staff in neighboring Azerbaijan, including at border checkpoints.

Following Australia’s move, several other countries have also started reacting to the Israel-Iran conflict.

Meanwhile, the UK is preparing to hold talks with France and Germany in Geneva. The US is giving itself two weeks to decide on attacking Iran, and during that time, it will likely talk with the UK about it.
