US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing a travel ban on citizens from 12 countries. The decision aims to prevent individuals from these nations from entering the United States. According to the White House, the full ban applies to travelers from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

In addition to the full ban, the US government has placed partial restrictions on travelers from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. These partial bans may include stricter visa requirements, additional screenings, or limited types of travel allowed.

President Trump stated that the decision was made to protect the United States and its citizens from potential threats posed by foreign elements. The ban will come into effect on Monday, June 9.

This is not the first time President Trump has implemented such restrictions. In 2017, during his first term, he signed a similar order targeting several countries, which stirred global debate and legal challenges.
