Social Activist Ashika Tamang Arrested

Ashika Tamang, a social media figure who recently gained attention for her outspoken presence on social media and who claims of being a social reformer got arrested on Wednesday by Kathmandu Police. Her arrest is linked to accusations of misbehavior at the Pashupatinath Temple premises.

SP Nawaraj Adhikari, the spokesperson for the District Police Range in Kathmandu, confirmed the arrest. According to him, Tamang was taken into custody under an arrest warrant issued by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. The warrant stated that her arrest was necessary to prevent the loss of evidence related to the case.

A few days ago, Tamang allegedly had a verbal argument with police officers stationed at the temple. This led the authorities to act under the National Criminal Code. Her actions at the temple have led to legal troubles for herself, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
