The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has issued a strong warning to the government — release our arrested leaders now, or get ready for more protests.
This warning came after an emergency meeting on Sunday. The party is angry over the arrest of its leaders and supporters during a peaceful demonstration in Narayan Chaur, Kathmandu. Among those detained were RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa and MP Deepak Bahadur Singh.
Spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha said, “We demand their immediate and unconditional release. If the government doesn’t listen, we will launch even stronger protests.”
RPP also slammed the police for using force in an area that wasn’t even declared a restricted zone. “This is not just an arrest, it’s an attack on democracy and our freedom of expression,” the party said in a statement.
The RPP has made it clear, if the government continues to silence their voice, the streets will see even bigger demonstrations in the coming days.
