Prakriti Lamsal's Body to Nepal Amid Ongoing Investigation

Prakriti Lamsal's body, which was found dead at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, will be sent back to Nepal today. The Nepali Embassy, local authorities, and university officials are working together to arrange for her body to arrive by Wednesday evening.

Prakriti, a 21-year-old student from Butwal, was found dead in her hostel room last Sunday. This led to protests from Nepali students who blamed the university for not taking proper care. The university allegedly reacted by using force and expelling hundreds of students from their hostels.

Indian police have arrested nine people, including Advik Srivastava, who is accused of harassing and blackmailing Prakriti. An investigation is still ongoing, as Prakriti had previously complained about his behavior, but the university did nothing. The incident has received criticism from both Nepal and India, and the university has formally apologized.
