Prime Minister Sushila Karki said that the good standards set by the Election Commission during the 2026 House of Representatives election should be continued in future elections.
Speaking at a program organized by the Election Commission at Kantipath, she said elections should be so well managed that there is no need for re-voting anywhere, and that future elections must also remain peaceful.
She said this election has improved Nepal’s image in the world, increased respect for the country, protected the Constitution, and strengthened democracy.
Prime Minister Karki recalled that when she took office in September 2025, the country was facing legal and political uncertainty along with security challenges. Despite this, the election was successfully held, which helped promote democratic values.
She added that the election was difficult at first, but it became successful due to the strong commitment of the Election Commission and the support of the government.
She also mentioned that after the election was announced, about one million young voters registered and took part with great enthusiasm.
Finally, she thanked the Election Commission for conducting the election in a free, fair, and fearless manner.
