The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight increase on the last trading day of the week, gaining 3.76 points to close at 2,982.64.
Trading activity picked up noticeably, with shares worth Rs 18.49 billion exchanged across 154,642 transactions. In total, around 38.96 million units of shares were traded.
Out of 328 listed companies that saw trading, stock prices of 123 companies went up, while 127 saw a decline. No company’s share price remained unchanged.
Looking at sector-wise performance, 6 out of the 13 sub-indices posted gains. The hydropower sector led the rise, while the mutual fund group had the smallest gain.
