Iran held a state funeral in Tehran for around 60 victims of its recent 12-day conflict with Israel, including top military officials and nuclear scientists. Among them was Iran’s top military officer, Mohammad Bagheri, killed alongside his wife and daughter in an Israeli strike.
The ceremony drew large crowds, with government offices closed and free transport provided. Iran reported 627 deaths, while Israel reported 28.
Tensions rose further after Donald Trump said he would “absolutely” consider bombing Iran again and criticized Ayatollah Khamenei. In response, Iran's foreign minister warned against Trump’s "disrespectful" remarks and confirmed Iran’s nuclear sites suffered serious damage.
IAEA chief Rafael Grossi stated military action alone won't stop Iran's nuclear program, stressing the need for a diplomatic solution.
