The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division has taken action against four traffic police officers for allegedly thrashing a commoner. SP Deepak Giri, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, said the officers were removed from duty at the division as the incident came to light after a video of the incident surfaced on social media and different media outlets covered it.

Initial investigations have revealed that the officers thrashed the individual under the overhead bridge at Sundhara in Kathmandu on December 7 last year. A further investigation is on, police said.
