Far-Western Province Minister Quits on Moral Grounds

Laxman Kishor Chaudhary, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of the Far-Western provincial government, has resigned on moral grounds in response to charges of financial irregularities, while stating that he is clean.

Chaudhary made the announcement during a press conference at the ministry this morning. He stepped down following the release of an audio recording that allegedly exposed his involvement in illegal financial activities. 

“I am innocent, and if found guilty, I am ready to face the consequences,” Chaudhary told the media. He served as a minister from the Nagrik Unmukti Party in the government under Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah of the Nepali Congress.
