Nepal’s Ambassador to Thailand and Vietnam, Dhan Bahadur Oli, has invited Vietnamese investors to explore opportunities in Nepal, saying the country is ready to welcome more business from Vietnam.
Speaking in Hanoi with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Ambassador Oli noted that Nepal and Vietnam have celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations. He emphasized the need to strengthen trade and investment ties.
He encouraged investment in export-oriented industries and highlighted potential in tourism, production-based industries, ICT, pharmaceuticals, and herbal products. He assured that Nepal will provide a supportive environment for investors.
FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal also urged Vietnamese investors to explore Nepal’s opportunities. He said Nepali products like handicrafts, tea, coffee, and herbs have good potential in Vietnam, while Nepal is also a growing market for Vietnamese agricultural products, seafood, and electronics.
Dhakal added that Nepal is improving its investment environment with investor-friendly laws and easier licensing, customs, and taxation. He also pointed out growing opportunities in tourism, including cable cars, resorts, adventure tourism, and wellness centers, welcoming Vietnamese investment in these areas.
