The CPN-UML has announced a nationwide campaign culminating in a mass rally in Kathmandu on November 21 (Mangsir 6), demanding the reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives.
A Secretariat meeting held at party chair KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, decided to begin nationwide mobilization efforts, said Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali.
As per the plan, gatherings will be held in all 6,743 wards on November 6 (Kartik 21), demonstrations in municipalities and rural municipalities on November 10 (Kartik 25), and district-level assemblies on November 14 (Kartik 29).
The UML said the campaign aims to defend the constitution and protect democracy, calling the dissolution of the House unconstitutional. Prime Minister Sushila Karki dissolved parliament on September 12 (Bhadra 27), a move currently under review by the Supreme Court.
