CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has said that his party will not merge with the dissatisfied faction of the CPN (Unified Socialist) as a group.

Following the Unified Socialist’s decision to unite with the Maoist Centre, leaders like Jhala Nath Khanal, Ghanashyam Bhusal, and Ram Kumari Jhakri have opposed the move and started planning for a new party. Amid talks of their possible return, Oli clarified that only individual members can rejoin the UML, not entire factions.

He added that the party is open to welcoming former members who wish to return personally. Oli’s statement comes as the Unified Socialist faces growing internal rifts after the merger decision.
