Heavy Rain Possible in Parts of Koshi and Gandaki Today

There is a chance of heavy rain in one or two areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, especially from tonight, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Last night, heavy rain was recorded in some eastern areas, including Ilam and Jhapa. Light to moderate rainfall is still happening in some places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces.

At the moment, the weather across Nepal is affected by the monsoon. This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy in many places, with chances of light to moderate rainfall in some areas.

Meteorologist Ujjwal Upadhyay said that from tomorrow afternoon to Monday morning, heavy rain may occur across many parts of the country.

Because of the possibility of very heavy rainfall in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki river basin areas, he has advised people to avoid long-distance travel until Monday, if possible.
