The government’s preparation to finalize its agreement with the Gen Z movement gained momentum on Friday as Prime Minister Sushila Karki pressed officials to complete the document without prolonging the process.
During a meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Gen Z representatives reiterated their demand for quick finalization and signing of the agreement. Officials informed them that the documents submitted by Gen Z groups were still under review.
PM Karki, however, instructed her team to accelerate the process, telling them to work rigorously, even on Saturday to ensure the draft is ready by Monday. She emphasized that the matter should not be delayed further, noting that the agreement is political in nature and should not be hindered by administrative hesitation.
Talks between the government and Gen Z activists continue as both sides work toward a formal agreement following the recent nationwide youth protests.
